Tonight, Tonight I decided to take a little ride through High Cliff State Park. I was hoping to see some deer to take pictures of since it was rainy, and a thunder storm was coming. I did see a few deer, but nothing up close I could get good images from. I then went down by the marina and saw this image. All the sail boats are waiting to get back in to the water to enjoy the summer, but none have been put back in yet. Being that it was raining (pretty hard) I made this image from my truck, and decided to make it black and white because of the dull sky. I think the black and white adds to the feeling as well.

Today was Easter, and we had the MArin side at my Aunt Linda’s house. My grandma lives in a nursing home, and gets very confused if she is away from there, so she cannot leave any more. To help her remember her kids and family, my aunts have given her pictures of the family, and they thought it would be nice to have a picture of all her kids (all my aunts and uncles). This image is all of them together for my Grandma. This is just a quick shot in her backyard with natural light. I think it turned out pretty well for a quick shot, and my grandma will love it!

Tonight I noticed that the daffodils I photographed the other day have started to bloom. I decided to take some more pictures of them tonight. This time I decided to keep the image color to show the color of the buds. I personally don’t think I like this shot as much as the one from the other day, but that is what this project is all about right? Exploring your skills and trying to improve.

Today while we were shopping at Sam’s Club, we saw these Easter Lily’s and with my new found fondness for flower images, I decided to buy them. This image turned out to be my favorite from the shoot for a couple reasons. I wanted a portrait orientation image and I really like the lighting on the flower. This is a studio image against a black background. I sprayed it down with water to add some interest to the image, and lit it with a large soft box. Editing was done in Lightroom 3 Beta 2, Photoshop CS4, and Topaz Adjust 4.

Tonight the weather was so great that we got to play outside with the kids again. Addison really loves to push Caleb in his swing, and he obviously enjoys it as well! I am looking forward to more fun this weekend and this summer with the kids and Lori!
Today I went for a little walk and came accross this kind if cool liking stand of reeds. The sky was pretty blue and the wind was blowing. I decided to grab a quick picture with my iPhone and process it using Chase Jarvis’s Best Camera App. I like the motion in the reeds because it was kind of windy, and I think it gives the image some movement and energy.

Tonight Caleb was really getting into eating his oatmeal. Enough said.

Today I had a corporate portrait session with Mary Jo. Mary Jo earned a promotion at work, and her employer publishes a picture of each person when they have milestones like a promotion or anniversary. It is kind of cool if you think about it, because they pay for you to have a nice image made, and if you wanted copies, you don’t have to pay the session fee. Congratulations Mary Jo!

Today we were at our friends house and I noticed these cool little purple flowers starting to pop up. They think that the flowers are the Crocus Flower. I am not really sure, but they are kind of cool looking. this was an all natural light image. The sky was very overcast, and made the lighting great! I am fining that I really enjoy creating images of flowers. Never thought I would like it, but when you get right down on the ground and look at them from an angle you have never seen before, I find the fascinating!

Today I decided to take a portrait of my daughter Addison. She loves having her picture taken, as she has been my model and subject for her whole life! She is such a good girl and is really interested in helping dad out with my photography. She even has her own kids tough Vtech camera. She fills the memory card on that thing all the time! I love hanging out with her and she is a great little model! I am lucky to have her in every way!
Today I read page 139 in the Canon 40D manual.
