I have a wedding coming up this weekend, and I got two lenses in the mail that I rented from
www.lensrentals.com. I rented the Canon EF16-35mm f/.28L II USM lens and the
Lens Baby Composer. I will end up buying both lenses eventually, but right now, renting makes more sense. Well, since I got the lenses, I figure I might as well play! Plus I need to learn how to use the Lens Baby much better. This image was captured with the Lens Baby and the f/2.8 disc. I think this image will end up being printed for the wall as well!

Tonight I noticed that the daffodils I photographed the other day have started to bloom. I decided to take some more pictures of them tonight. This time I decided to keep the image color to show the color of the buds. I personally don’t think I like this shot as much as the one from the other day, but that is what this project is all about right? Exploring your skills and trying to improve.

Spring is here! I noticed the other day that some daffodils that we planted at the end of last summer have started to spring up in the last few weeks with the warm weather we have been having. This is a clump of them that are in my backyard near some woods that we have behind the house. I have been wanting to create an image like this ever since I started seriously with my photography. Today I finally got the chance. I was inspired by the photography of Michelle at
My Two Seasons and her amazing images of flowers and budding trees. Today was a great day, because it was very overcast, so the light was nice and diffuse, but there was enough light that I didn’t need any kind of flash. Thanks to Michelle for the inspiration, and I hope to do a lot more! I am actually going to be planting a lot more flowers and things this year so I have more photographic subjects close to home when I can’t get away!
Today I read page 26 in the Canon 40D manual.
