Today I saw that some of our tulips had finally started to bloom. I snapped this image quick when it was trying to rain. This is going to be a short post because I am getting ready to go down to Florida to shoot a wedding on Sunday. I will be driving down and back, but I am still planning to keep up my 365 project. The posts just might not be that day. Well, I am off to bed now that I FINALLY got everything packed and ready.

Spring is here! I noticed the other day that some daffodils that we planted at the end of last summer have started to spring up in the last few weeks with the warm weather we have been having. This is a clump of them that are in my backyard near some woods that we have behind the house. I have been wanting to create an image like this ever since I started seriously with my photography. Today I finally got the chance. I was inspired by the photography of Michelle at My Two Seasons and her amazing images of flowers and budding trees. Today was a great day, because it was very overcast, so the light was nice and diffuse, but there was enough light that I didn’t need any kind of flash. Thanks to Michelle for the inspiration, and I hope to do a lot more! I am actually going to be planting a lot more flowers and things this year so I have more photographic subjects close to home when I can’t get away!

Today I read page 26 in the Canon 40D manual.

Today was a really nice day out! The temperature was a little over 60 degrees, and so we got to play outside. Addison loves to blow bubbles, and it was a great night for it. This image was taken with my favorite combination: my 5D Mark II and my 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM lens. I then touched up the image in Lightroom 3. After that, I took the image into Photoshop, and used Topaz Adjust 4 to create the look of the background and give the photo a little pop.

Read page 88 in 40D manual.

Spring ahead! LAst night we had to turn the clocks ahead one hour. I don’t know about you, but that hour time change sure messes me up! My kids will be out of whack for a week because of it. I really don’t know why we even bother to do the time change anymore. It originally started (I think) to help farmers get more daylight in to farm and I guess to save energy. These days, I don’t think it matters. There are far less farmers, and technology is so much better, that it is really not necessary any longer. I shot this image of a new clock we bought using a small hot shoe flash off camera with a small softbox.

Today I read page 52 in my Canon 40D manual, Shooting Moving Subjects.
